Kasey Bell - Shake Up Learning
Kasey Bell's blog, Shake Up Learning, is very eye catching when you first open her page. At the top of her page she has everything organized by tabs so that you can easily access what you are looking for whether it is her blogs, podcasts, her contact information, or something else. She also has tabs on the right side of her profile that show things such as resources she uses, some of her recent blogs, and her Pinterest that you can follow.
If if you want to learn more about Kasey Bell, you can read all about her on her about me page. She talks about all of her accomplishments such as being an Edublog Awards finalist, being the author of The Teacher's Guide to Google Classroom, and being recognized as one of the 20 TrustED educational thought leaders. You can also access Kasey's Twitter, Google+, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
Kasey Bell is a big advocate for using Google in the classrooms. Almost all of her blog posts are related to Google such as Top 10 Reasons Every School Should go Google, How to Become a Google Certified Educator, and 10 Amazing Google Geo Tools for Your Classroom. My favorite article on her blog is the one called Top 10 Reasons Every School Should Go Google. Most of her reasons are because it saves time and makes things easier. The way she lists them is funny which makes it fun to read, such as #10: The dog can't eat their homework! This one is talking about how students can't mak up excuses for forgetting or losing their homework because everything is online. I think this is true and something I never thought about because students will have access to their homework and assignments all the time. I also liked #2: collaboration. There are so many tools on Google that can be used and accessed by many teachers so that all teachers can share their ideas and borrow ideas that they see from others. There are apps and websites for every subject, every grade level, and every lesson. I think Google, and technology in general, is a great resource for teachers to use in their classroom and that is why I really enjoy the Shake Up Learning blog.
